The long-tail tit is a sweet, chatty bird whose tail is longer than its body and is easily recognized by its distinctive coloring-black or brown on top, white below and reddish flanks. It is the designated bird of June in the Northern Hemisphere and is usually found in flocks of around 20 or so birds.
These birds are very social in their natural setting and are seldom seen alone. They habitually favour wooded or well vegetated areas to call their home.
