The robin is a rotund, russet breasted bird whose sweet songs are familiar in many parts of the world. The robin is part of the thrush family of birds and there are quite a few subspecies which inhabit different parts of the globe. In Northern Europe the bird is migratory, but sedentary further south.
Robins are found in the USA, Europe, North Asia and North Africa, to name a few locations. The robin pictured here is a European robin.
