Cutting

• Cut 2 pieces with the slit marked out
• Cut the elastic to waist size according to the size chart on this website

Equipment

• 1 m of stretch knit fabric such as Bon Bon or cotton knit
• 1m knitted elastic 2.5cm wide
• Pins
• Sewing machine (overlocker, serger)
• Scissors 
• Tailors chalk 
• Sticky tape for constructing the pattern

Sewing

• Sew the back and front right sides together at side seams
• Overlock hem and around slit
• Sew elastic to the top edge of skirt at the side seam
• Wrap elastic around the top edge and pin in quarters (see picture)
• Overlock elastic to top of skirt waist~ Hem the elastic, base and slit using a twin needle for stretch fabric (use ball point needles)
• Steam press
